Montague Street is a major thoroughfare within Brooklyn Heights. There are many restaurants and nice shops along this street. This street consists of a lot of metered parking, and I saw the parking attendants scrutinize this street very heavily.

It's the shopping and eating street for Brooklyn Heights. You will find a supermarket here as well as lots of places to eat and drink. Nice architecture and lots of people on the street. Fun.

Cute street with lots of brownstones, intertwined with little shops for dining, etc. The brownstones owners decorate their flower boxes and even their steps with beautiful seasonal florals. Stop by Apartment 4F for fabulous croissants )go early!)

This is the shopping street for Brooklyn Heights, which is the most upscale neighborhood in the borough. As a result, the shopping and dining here are posh. It's a pleasant stroll.

Montague Street is a wonderful location to stroll thru the shops and stores and neighboring streets.

This street will even lead you the Brooklyn Heights Promenade with a beautiful view of Lower Manhattan.

Many various shops and restaurants for you to stroll to and even grab a bit.

One of the oldest parts of Brooklyn and was the center area of commerce.

A bit of walk from here will lead you to the DUMBO area of Brooklyn..

The furthers end you will view what is known as the Civic Center of Brooklyn. Brooklyn Boro Hall, Supreme Court House of Brooklyn and the Original Historic Brooklyn Main Post Office.

We came up from the subway and were greeted by the twinkling lights on Montague Street. It was quite enchanting, even in the rain. We took a few minutes to walk along and look at the shops and eateries.

Reaching from Court Street to the Brooklyn Promenade overlooking lower Manhattan with spectacular views this is an interesting street to walk down. There are a variety of shops and restaurants from diners, Chinese, Japanese, burgers, Thai to Polish. The shops are Mom and Pop affaires. Except for a Walgreens and CVS thee are no huge chain stores so the feeling is definitely local. My only sorrow is that in today's economy there are too many empty store fronts. Sadly, that is happening allover New York.
