Brooklyn Heights is a neighbourhood in Brooklyn and possibly the inspiration for a drag queen?

I visited by getting the subway to Brooklyn and walking down to the riverside. There are signposts and google maps helped me along the way too.

The area is very clean and tidy and there are plenty of places to sit and admire the views of Manhattan, Governor's Island and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Highly recommended!

Great view and lovely environment. We have stayed in a nearby house for two weeks, and visited the promenade almost every hour in different days. It was all superb in different weather and light conditions… Don’t miss the opportunity to see Manhattan from this side…

This is a real neighborhood park, A relaxing place for Brooklynites to enjoy some air and sun. It is cantilevered out over the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, but unless you look straight down, you won't see it. Instead there is a beautiful park below, and one of the best views of Lower Manhattan you will find.

If you walk all the way to the northern end (turn right from the street entrances), you can easily reach a walking bridge that will take you down to the waterfreont park along Columbia Heights, just above Vine Street.

If you stay on Columbia Heights, you'll be at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, where there are some more really spectacular views, and access to another park on the other side of the bridge.

There are restaurants along Montague St., which leads down to the Promenade from the subway, where you can pick up some food to enjoy with the view. There are also some nice places to eat down under the the bridge, and the area between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.

Interesting old neighborhood with a LOT of history, and some very nice modernizations.

After crossing Brooklyn Bridge we took a walk up to the heights and followed the original route that was recommended. Nice views and the neighborhood impressed us very much in a positive way.

Excellent redevelopment of the waterfront. Places for families and friends to share barbecues, relax, and take in the ‘air’ and sights of Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge. Angela’s Rooftop Bar on top of No 1 Brooklyn Bridge hotel well worth a visit (open to non-residents). Dashing helicopter tours across the water add to the buzz, along with the bustling ferries, with intervals of quietness and solitude.😊
