Very charming, row houses and small apartment buildings, tree-lined streets and lots of restaurants and cafes. Sort of like what the West Village used to be before all the money flooded in.

Wonderful Sicilian fare. Original dishes not the usual Italian fare. Must have the Pannelle special! They make their own bread. A little off the beaten path on a cute street in Carroll Gardens .

Lots to see in Carroll Gardens - you may want to include as part of your walk along Court and/or Smith streets. Classic brownstones, nice restaurants, cafes. Pleasant way to spend a morning is to stroll from Smith/ 9th Street station to Atlantic Avenue.
