Have I got a bridge for you! I've only walked over the Beautiful Brooklyn Bridge on two occasions and both of them were during emergencies. Despite that, the Bridge is a great walk and is steeped in history. It's a New York City excusrion not enough people take advatage of-and they should. Visit City Hall in Manhattan while you're at... As with many people who visit NY, we decided to wander over Brooklyn bridge by foot. We planned to get there for sunrise, just to add to the experience, but that never happened! Still, it was lovely mid-morning. Lots of people cycle over the bridge in designated lanes, so just make sure you keep out of them! Give yourself enough... More

We arrived 08:30 11/22 @ jfk got to the hotel and got on the subway to brooklyn getting off @high street. After the confusing start trying to find the starting place we finally were on this historical bridge. It was very cool walking back to manhattan and seeing the buildings from another perspective. It was a great time and saw... More

This is a very interesting area of Brooklyn to visit. We went on a guided tour and there were plenty of places to visit and get some great photos. If you want to have an excellent pizza try Juliana's. We had a lovely thin crust Margaretta. We did not have nought time to walk across the bridge but it would... More

We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge while we were in New York recently. It was a beautiful Autumn day so we were lucky. We were advised to go over to Brooklyn and walk back to Manhattan and this proved to be good advice. Every step over the bridge changed the view and as it was quite busy with tourists there... More

I walked from Manhattan over to Brooklyn, and then back again. It took about an hour for the round trip. However the bridge gets so busy with tourists that it can sometimes take longer than this. There's lots of stalls selling, wooly hats, books, NY merchandise etc Earlier in the day I had been to the 9/11 memorial and museum... More

What's not to like? It's free, you get fantastic views of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline and it only takes about 30 minutes to go right across (more if you stop to take pictures along the way). Well worth the time, especially if you get a clear day, just remember to stick to the designated walking side instead of... More
