Catch the subway to High Street in Brooklyn, then walk down to Dumbo for a few iconic snaps, grab a pizza slice (Front Street Pizza at 80 Front Street is cheap and cheerful) or coffee at one of the bakeries and then start the walk towards Manhattan over the bridge. This route will probably have less traffic than doing it... More

Well worth the visit. I found the best views were from the Brooklyn side walking over the bridge in the direction of Manhattan. The bridge itself is the attraction here and although the view is nice, there is a much nicer view of Manhattan from the Brooklyn promenade a few minutes walk south of the bridge on the Brooklyn side.... Although quite crowded during the holidays and weekends, walking the Brooklyn bridge is such a great way to see the sites of Downtown Manhattan. Just please make sure to walk in the pedestrian lane and be aware of Bike riders on the path. If you're walking from Manhattan, The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is perfect place to walk to once you... We set out to "see" the Brooklyn Bridge and decided to go ahead and take the short hike across into Brooklyn. Right as we did it started snowing pretty good and made the experience that much more memorable. What a beautiful structure, just amazes me the ability of the thousands that help build it so many years ago. Wow!

Very nice views when crossing from Brooklyn towards Manhattan. Beware of fast track cyclists... Great way to see Manhattan from a different angle.

It is an excellent place to visit. There has a nice place to eat pizza. There is place to see and have a good view of the river or sea. There is a lot of sport activity and a beautiful view of Manhattan.
