Interesting attraction but a bit overpriced. The artists are exceptionally talented to create these works of art using ice as a medium. Though scenic, it is quite a drive, from Fairbanks; however, the trip was noteworthy in that we saw two moose and two black...More

Drove up from Fairbanks, took an hour. Well worth the drive. Combine this with the Chena Hot Springs. Do the Ice Museum first and then the Hot Springs so you are not wet going into the Freezer. They do scheduled tours of the Ice Museum,...More

My wife and I took the tour of the Ice Museum. The guide was great. The experience was informative about how ice scupltures are made and presreved.

Very unique experience. You get to walk thru the museum of ice sculptures. We watched Heather Brice, the multiple time sculpting champion at work. Our teenagers loved playing the ice xylophone, while the adults drank appletinies out of ice glasses.

I bought the combo package to see the ice sculptures. It was fantastic ice statues. They let you try ice sliding. The honor ANDY was very very pleasant person. His talk was nice and he helped a lot. The movies were gorgeous. 5 stars

Being from Texas this was an interesting, but fascinating experience. Yes the museum is very cold but has to be to keep the sculptures in tact. The sculpturers are on site and the lady was working on a piece while we were there. The art...More

We combined the visit with the hot springs, otherwise it is probably not worth the hour drive. The place is fun, temp inside is 24F, so you not going to stay for too long. Apple martini is also just for fun - you pay to...More

We had a free afternoon to explore prior to catching our flight out of Fairbanks after midnight so rented a car and drove to Chena Hot Springs. Spent a couple of hours boiling in the Hot Springs then while walking the area saw the big...More

We have seen ice sculptures before; more elaborate and detailed than these. However, we assumed these sculptures were created as part of a timed competition, so you couldn't expect them to look superbly finished and detailed I suppose. We didn't stay for the demonstration so...More

Definitely a bathing suit for the hot springs, but a coat for the museum. It is cold in the ice museum. As I recall, they do have heavy jackets that you can wear. We went in February so had warm coats and gloves... More

They provide you with winter jackets at the aurora ice museum, so there is no need to bring a parka if you are traveling in june. I would say to be sure to bring a swim suit to the hot springs, and to wear comfortable... More
