OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, NO DROP-INS ACCOMMODATED. PLEASE CALL FIRST. Enjoy a walk through the boreal forest of Alaska with our curious and gentle reindeer. Ruby, Olive, Willow, Jasper, Rufus, Daisy, Buttercup and Rocket will be your guides as you enjoy the beauty of Alaska's interior. See them romp free through the forest doing "reindeery" things. After our walk we will return to the house for a light refreshment and to finish up the conversation. Each time you come will be a unique experience. We are open year round by appointment only. Same day reservations sometimes available but you must contact us in advance. Winter cut off temperature -65 F.(That's a joke, it really never gets that cold, we cut off when you don't want to do it, we are always game! Reindeer love the cold!) Book Online on our website or facebook page.

If you want to experience something that isn't commercial in nature, I highly recommend visiting Running Reindeer Ranch. Our visit with Jane and her herd of reindeer was one of the favorite things we did while in Fairbanks. A real nice laid back nature experience. Great for children and adults. DRESS WARM. If you like commercial activities, you would do... More

This will be a great tour for people interested in the basics in the life of reindeers and how it's like to have them as pets. The host is really passionate about their reindeers which the family consider as pets. The reindeers, like any other animals, are wonderful and lovely. Basically, the tour is an hour (or less) long walk... More

Loved our visit at the Running Reindeer Ranch. The owner was knowledgeable and shared a lot of that information through a autobiographical storytelling format, that kept it interesting and made it easy to retain the information. Good balance of outdoor time with the animals and indoor time (to warm up - it was around 0°F) and her home-made cookies were... More

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Running Reindeer Ranch. It was very cool to interact with the reindeer and to see them running freely, and it was also super educational. It was a very casual setting- after the walk through the woods you go into the owners house for cookies and coffee and she shares some stories.... More

While the owner is very sweet, I do agree with other reviews in that it was a bit of a let down and way to expensive for what you actually get. All you really do is walk through her backyard with the animals. Then you go into the house, where there is coffee, tea and cookies she makes, and she... More

Thanks for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your tour here. The experience of taking our reindeer out for a walk in our woods has been modified over the years to make it accessible for most people. We do take them out on a jaunt in our back... More

There are experiences that you remember the rest of your life. This will be one of them. Imagine taking a walk through the Alaskan wilderness with a small heard of reindeer, accompanied by a lady steeped in knowledge and eager to share it during your hike through the woods with these beautiful friendly animals. And just when you think it's... More

The Ranch was so much fun. It was great learning about reindeer, walking with them was special, and watching them play freely was very cool. After the walk, Jane did a tremendous job with more information, cocoa and cookies, and a story. It was very nice and we would definitely do it again and recommend to friends.

Jane and Doug were so nice to share their reindeer and their home with us. The tour started off with a safety discussion, which talked about the reindeer's traits, and made us feel more comfortable around them. Then we started on the walk, which was great to see them all roam through the forest and play. It had just snowed... More
