What an informative, hands on presentation of gold mining operations in Alaska as well as the Alaska pipeline. How many can say that they have touched the pipeline and panned for and found gold! The hot chocolate and cookies were nice too!

Had a great time. The staff was very friendly and knowledge. Free homemade cookies and hot chocolate were great. Panning for gold was fun. The dredge was interesting to tour. Lots of interesting artifacts in the store. Well worth the trip.

Great insight into the history of Alaskan Gold Rush. Panning for gold was easier than expected and everyone goes home with some gold. Learning how mining technogy changed overtime was interesting. Also time spent learning from an expert about the Alaskan Pipeline was a bonus.

Step back to the gold rush days and enjoy panning for gold. You take a train to the dredge and hear commentary along the way. At the dredge you pan for gold, have a gifyshp, free cookies and coffee or hot chocolate. Lots of fun.

We did the Gold Dredge 8 while in Alaska and it was awesome and fun! We learned so much about the history and were able to actually pan for gold. This is a must do if you are in Fairbanks.
