Excellent walking area or you could have a horse drawn tour around the city. Very historic town with a long history, George Washington, James Monroe and other lived or worked in town. Great food town with plenty of excellent places for lunch or dinner.

We loved walking the town & seeing all the old buildings, homes & cemetery. I picked up brochers to read the history after we returned home. I love this type of history. If you are interested in war history, this is the place to visit.

Old town is not as old as other old towns. The hip shops and tea rooms are new. As are the beer pubs and trinket shops. Plenty of civil war shops along with antique shops mixed in with among historic building and museums.
