As others have noted, the cemetary is part of the Fredricksburg battlefield walking tour. You can just visit the cemetary if you like, but I recommend the whole walking tour because understanding the battle puts the cemetary in perspective. Very sobering. Highly recommended.

Go to the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center first and get a map for a self guided tour. With that, you can walk around and read what is at each tour stop. This is a beautiful cemetery and is a very profound, sobering place. To think...More

A great cemetery where the battle actually played out. These cemeteries are always nice for a stroll.

The cemetery is located right next to the battlefield. It is a large cemetery on a hill, with sweeping views of the city. The cemetery itself is interesting with some unique signs, headstones and statues.

This national cemetery is adjacent to the Fredericksburg Battlefield. It contains thousands of graves of Union soldiers who died in battles fought throughout the region, most of whom are unidentified. It's very sobering and an impressive monument to those who fought and died.

As you know what kind of bloody battles have taken place here the serene silence has taken over. To see all those gravestones without names it makes you respect these men even more. The whole cemetery looks very beautiful and if you can you should...More

The cemetery is next to the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There is a self guided tour - brochures are available at the visitor center. There are many monuments and Confederate artillery among the graves.

I did the walking tour from the battlefield visitor's center, which finished up in the cemetery. I saw and heard many birds in the trees and I saw a bold woodchuck strolling the grounds too. I also got to see a park ranger raise the...More
