After living in the same neighborhood as John F.Kennedy's birthplace for more than 30 years,I finally went to tour this national landmark! It was not a disappointment. I was surprised to see that it was a modest home-not at all what I expected. The kitchen is very simple with a coal burning stove. The tour guide described JFK's position in... More

Great, very manageable visit. Parking on the street very easy. Easy walk from Coolidge Corner Green line. House furnishings are either the original or a few replicas. Give you a very clear image of how the young Kennedy Family lived. Great historic site. Small but interesting and important. Enjoy.

The site is currently closed until May and is accessible by appointment only. So please call ahead if you plan to visit. We were able to take a tour on October 30, the last day of tours. We did, however, go trick-or-treating at the house the following evening with the kids (rangers were on site for the trick-or-treaters). I recommend... More

We'd been to Boston a few times and always seemed to miss this lovely spot. As others have noted, check the hours before you go. We took public transportation to get there and enjoyed the walk to this unassuming house in what seemed like a vibrant neighborhood. The tour of the house and the small visitors' center and gift shop... More

In a quiet neighborhood in Brookline. Interesting site. We had free admission and headsets narrated by Rose Kennedy. Amazingly modest home. Worth a visit!

Try to plan to be there for the time when they have open house self-guided tours. You get an audio guide spoken by Rose Kennedy and it is inevitably quite moving. The house seems rather modest by modern standards, but it is a captivating place to visit. Very well presented too.

This is where it all began. The Kennedys weren't always rich and powerful and you are amazed how all those children fitted into this house?

Can't believe I had spent so much time in Boston without visiting this gem! Located right in the middle of Brookline, the house tells a lovely story of JFK's early years. Admission is free, run by the National Parks Service.

JFK's birthplace is an interesting stop for anyone who is a Kennedy fan. National Park guides offer free and interesting guided walks. You can learn a lot about how his early years and family life shaped the adult he would become.
