Esther Short Park has to be one of the best utilized parks I have ever experienced. There is always something going on from the farmers' market on the weekends, to summer concerts throughout the summer and special events such as Hawaiian Days, car shows, fire station events, recycle events and more. Plus, it's right downtown, so it's close to some... More

The play structure here is great for younger kids. Lots of space and things to run around on, with benches nearby to sit on and watch them. Nice area, although there are several homeless people nearby so that's not super appealing and if they have chosen to use an "outside" restroom you are stuck w/that odor and smell. I also... More

I grew up in Vancouver and used to go to Esther Short Park long before the renovation several years back. I still can't get over how nice it is now -- it does not seem like the same place! Downtown Vancouver has grown so much, and there are shops, eateries and coffee houses all around the park now. There are... More

Esther Short Park is a lovely park. The summer free concert series is always a lot of fun as is the weekend farmers market. We also enjoy the annual Hawaiian festival. Great park to visit.

Esther Short Park, named for a pioneer citizen who gave the land to the community, is a graceful cooling footprint of Vancouver, WE. On weekends, it features a farmer's market. In summer, a jazz festival is held there. It has a little running water feature where kids can cool off on warm days, and park benches throughout where one can... More

Stay at the Hilton across the street. Watched the activities at the park for four days- never empty. Fire trucks with EMT display, two walk/runs- one on Saturday and one on Sunday, prom photo sessions, children playing in the water feature, a Saturday Market (which was very nice!), moms and dads, strollers and umbrellas, guitarists, children at play on the... Esther Short Park is just a short jaunt north of Portland off of Interstate 5 near the heart of downtown Vancouver Washington. The park in itself is a beautiful well kept park. In the summer time many activities happen at the park, plus one of the best little Saturday markets around. Lots of local bites to eat, local farm vegetables,... More
