We were traveling with a motor coach tour and "Miss Laura's Social Club" / Visitors Center was our first stop in Fort Smith. We were cordially greeted by "Miss Laura" (Carolyn Joyce). She gave us a tour of the Bawdy House and an overview of...More

Restore house is used a visitor's center but was a brothel. Tours are given about the history of the time. Gives a different perspective into the history of the area. Not your usual place to visit. tour is free, but donations are requested.

I love that this used to be a brothel. Fort Smith definitely has a sense of humor to put their welcoming visitor center in what was a house of ill repute. Great history...if only those walls could talk. Super nice volunteers too.

My mother and I made a point of stopping here for a meal around June 1990. We thoroughly enjoyed the decor as well as our meal. Mom enjoyed her dinner and mine was so good that I still remember what I ordered--seafood alfredo!

What a great idea to make a former bordello the visitors center! You get a tour and information about Ft. Smith. Places like this were part of the West, even at the turn of the (last) century. Enjoyed the Victorian rooms.
