This was our family's first trip to Tybee. Loved the beach. Not too crowded like a lot of other beaches. Also liked the pier. It had a pavilion where you could go get something to eat and drink and cool off from the sun (or...More

Tybee has a very unique, laid-back feel. Out of all the beaches up and down the coast, it is my favorite one to kick back on. I usually chill at the beach next to Fort Scriven. It is usually more chill and there is a...More

We enjoyed the lovely natural beach of Tybee. The wooden pier of the beach is free to enter and provides a great view, particularly during sunrise and also fishing opportunities. The high tides often leave back water and aquatic animals in different patches on the...More

We are staying in Richmond Hill, GA which is 25 minutes from downtown Savannah (Per Mapquest) and want to go to the Beach for a few hours tomorrow. Where should we go where there is not a massive crowd of people and/or parking issues.

I agree with conrad. Get there early, parking will be hard to come by all over town.
I'm from Iowa and taking my daughter on a college visit to South Carolina. She would like to spend a day at the beach, and see Savannah. But we are going March 30-April 2. Is this a big spring break destination? We don't want to be in the middle of wild college shenanigans on this trip!

South beach is removed from the main beach a bit and most of the beach goers go to the central or North beach. Granted that Tybee beach is not that large but I have not seen a lot of Spring break folks there at that time. IF... More
