The camellias were in bloom while we were visiting Savannah in February! The array and selection of varieties were almost endless...what a treat!!! The rest of the garden areas were fairly dormant (February) yet there were some daffodils in bloom. There was a gated historical garden that was fun to see. The written descriptions added a lot to the area.... More

This small, free garden is a peaceful place for a pleasant walk. Pets are welcome on a leash and donations appreciated. The roses smell amazing, even though there were just a few left in winter. The turtles in the pond are nice, and there is a cute children's garden area where they are encouraged to dig, water, climb, etc.

Botanical Garden, and Savannah Area Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. (SACGC) oversee this botanical garden and offer it to the public for free and accept donations. Per their map of the grounds there are nature trails, and paved walkways leading to areas throughout the gardens. The gardens directly behind the building was beautiful and enjoyable but this was a small... More

Easy access, this nice garden is free and full of roses primarily. The area is nicely landscaped, and there is a pond with a fountain and some nice butterfly-shaped benches way in the back. Speaking of benches - there are plenty. You can hardly walk a few yards without finding another bench, which was nice after all the walking we... More

This is another hidden gem I found during my Savannah stay. Its not a large garden, but it is filled with wonder and beauty. There is no charge to go in, but there is a donation box to help with upkeep, etc. It has so many different plants, flowers and the rose collection is HUGE and some are taller than... More

Surprisingly charming little garden that you walk through on your own. It was only a few minutes drive from our hotel and it was free! Take an hour and enjoy walking through the rose gardens, around the pond, meandering up and down the paths of well-tended plants.

I visited early Sunday morning and the layout of the garden really impressed me. You walk behind the old house and there is a breathtaking scene with a replica of the famous Bird Girl statue circled by flowers, then gorgeous roses and all sorts of plants carefully placed. In the back is a very cool place with butterfly chairs next... More

The website makes it look like it is a better place to visit however it is much smaller than that it seems. It was nice and we took very nice pictures and since there is not much in Savannah I would definitely do this.

We wanted to come here as it was close to our hotel and we wanted a quiet break. Unfortunately when we came on a Saturday afternoon we were severely disappointed to find that it was closed as it was booked for a private party. No where on it's web site does it say it might be closed. On the contrary... More
