Located near historic Savannah, this park borders Skidaway narrows, a part of Georgia’s intracoastal waterway. Trails wind through maritime forest and past salt marsh, leading to a boardwalk and observation tower. Visitors can watch for deer, fiddler crabs, raccoon, egrets and other wildlife. Inside the park’s interpretive center, birders will find binoculars, reference books and a window where they can look for migrating species such as Painted Buntings. Children will especially enjoy seeing the towering, 20-foot Giant Ground Sloth replica and reptile room. A scenic campground is nestled under live oaks and Spanish moss, while groups can enjoy privacy in their own pioneer campgrounds. Open-air picnic shelters and an enclosed group shelter are popular spots for parties, reunions and other celebrations.

Stayed 3 days at Skidaway State Park. Beautiful park with lots of room between campsites. Trails are easy with Oak trees and Spanish moss. Close to historic district in Savannah. Will come back for sure.

With Spanish Moss hanging from it. Extremely pleasant staff at check in. Very helpful. Arrived in the pitch black of the evening and set up by Braille. Tough finding a camp site in those conditions but there are no really bad sites here. Very quiet....More

We rented the banquet hall for a cookout for family and friends. It was a nice, clean facility and had a refrigerator and stove. There were also plenty of tables and chairs. Nice, scenic surroundings. There are hiking trails, but I did not explore them.

I had a greatl experience on my first time visiting this park. The rangers were friendly. The forrest was very different from what I'm used to seing in the north. I loved the vegetation, the moss shrouded trees and swamp areas. Beautiful!

It's less than 15 miles, takes around 25 min. Not sure about Trolley-tour. We drove. You may read tripadvisor's 'Savannah: Free Trolley versus Tour Trolleys'

I'm sorry, I don't know. It was just a place for us to camp in order to see the city.
