We liked the way the our guide pointed out and talked about all the items in the fort. We were also encouraged to explore it also. Our guide, "Logan" was involved in firing the canons on our visit. We were able to record and video...More

A non-profit runs this great historical site. Pet-friendly. They have a couple of shows a day where you can see a cannon fired and someone provides more details about the fort! Very informative!

Very historic place and an important part of Savannah's history. When the River Cruise paddle steamer goes past they fire the cannon, it is very loud!

National park run by local non-profit so America the Beautiful pass not accepted. Cost is reasonable though. Guided tour took about 1 hr and included a canon firing. Guide readily spent time afterward to answer questions

It was a cool, but underwhelming. I've been to a bunch of these old forts around the country and this was one of the least interesting.

This is a very interesting, old (built between 1808 and 1812) National Historic Landmark. It has an important role in Civil War/Savannah history. It is owned by the State of Georgia, but managed by the Coastal Heritage Society. We were there for a "canon firing,"...More

It’s fairly close to the historic section of Savannah. It’s probably a 10-15 minute drive, mostly along the same road. Signage could be a bit better so keep your eyes out. Once you turn left off the main road, the fort is... More

Cannon firing presentations include a history of the site and its significance. When kids visit, we try to make our programming as interactive as possible, including mock drill and marching.
