Different than Bonaventure: and worth checking out. The back wall has all the tombstones that were displaced during the war, and is beautiful in it's own right.

The citizens of Savannah used this cemetery from 1750 to 1853. Many grave stones are to old to read. There are many history markers that do explain about the Historical people who are buried here. This cemetery was desiccated by Union soldiers. Cemetery is said...More

It is pretty amazing to stroll around this cemetery reading the headstones. Wow! And the dates (those that you could read) really span this country's start!

This was a primary cemetery for the area for about 100 years, up to the 1850's. Most of the tombstones are not legible anymore, but there are many interpretive signs that make the whole thing understandable and much more interesting. You can cover this in...More

I loved Colonial Park Cemetery. It is so old, you can barely read the inscriptions on many headstones. So many are buried here that died of Yellow Fever which is fascinating. They have many markers around the cemetery to tell you interesting facts. Definitely recommend!

Right on downtown. Big museum with a lot of history. Great for a walk and for a learning experience.

We didn't even know this cemetery was here after hearing all the hoopla about Bonaventure. Came across it our first day of walking the Historic District. This is the oldest cemetery I have ever been to. Many of the gravestones are unable to be read,...More

Some people have given this cemetery a bad review however if you are history buffs then you won't be disappointed. Yes, the stones are in bad shape however they are original and after almost 200 years, (some even more), it is to be expected. The...More
