All you need is 1 hour and you will never forget this Peabody library . One of the 20 most beautiful libraries in the world. Volumes are ancient and interesting. Fines paid to King Henry III in 1260? This is the place to see. Architecture is the main reason to visit.

Must stop in when in Mount Vernon area. The architecture is just beautiful- the details are amazing. Make sure to check out the library to the right of the reception desk. The is no public restroom, so plan for that. Allow a half hour at least for the library and exhibit.

A beautiful old library. We were lucky enough to see an Edgar Allen Poe exhibit that was on display.

Free access, but access is allowed to the Library only. It is located right near historic Mount Vernon! Recommended.

The Peabody Library is part of the Peabody Music Institute. The Library has a big room showing the stacks of books and overlooking other Institute buildings. There is a historical museum part with a useful Edgar Allan Poe collection. The Library is in Mt. Vernon near the Walters Museum and a very good walking area.

It looks like the numerous photo you have probably come across and there is not much else to see. There was a room with exhibits that seem to change as well. currently a display on EA Poe. the library has limited opening hours for purposes of touristic visits. A visit here will be short though.

You have seen the photos, so you already know why you need to go. The building is stunning, the staff is so lovely, and the collections on the first floor are really interesting to browse. Also, card catalogs. You guys. It is so nice to see these in action! If you happen to go in the next few weeks check... More

This is an old library that is now part of the Hopkins' University music school. There is an auditorium where they perform jazz concerts. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood to check out the history.
