The cannons are aimed downtown Baltimore. The first shots of the Civil War happened downtown Baltimore when Southern loyalists did not want Yankee soldiers marching through Baltimore.

Federal Hill Park has great views of the harbor and the city. High on a hill, be sure to take your walking shoes. no high heels here. Lots of cannons.

You can see almost everything; very pretty views. But the park is very small so don't allot time to it unless you want to picnic, etc.
