It is a lovely area to visit. We stayed in a hotel in the Mt.Vernon area because there were so many things to see, the Walters Art Museum, Washington Monument, Methodist Church with its spires, Mt Vernon Marketplace, just to mention a few. We saw all of these and more, but there is still more to see, so we'll be... More

You can get here from the inner harbor area by a 15 minute uphill walk or taking the free Charm City Circulator buses (they is a rumor that they will start charging some type of fare). The area contains the nation's first monument to George Washington (designed by the same guy who later designed the more famous one in DC).... More

Came to visit local friends so I did have personal tour guides but this area of Baltimore is rich with diverse Architecture. Every corner building has a rich history and it seemed a well cared for and safe area of Baltimore. Locals are friendly. Many many different and interesting area restaurants and bars.

Mount Vernon is particularly nice during Flower Mart. Check out the local attractions and churches on the walking tour.

A must see. From the incredible Walters Art Museum, to the Washington Monument, to the Peabody Conservatory library, to the Historic and grand Engineer's Club...it's all there.

The Mt. Vernon Cultural District has some sights to see. The Walters Museum of Art is a fine art museum that you can spend 2-4 hours in on a nice or rainy day. The Old Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church is attractive. The same is true for the Washington Monument. Several other sights as well.

We walked here from our hotel (SpringHill Suites down by the Inner Harbour) only took us about 20 minutes to walk up here and we really enjoyed it. Not much to see in the city on the way, but once we arrived we had plenty to see. The National Basilica was also close by. The Washington monument they have here... More

This was the first really attractive old Baltimore neighborhood I discovered. The park in the center isn't as well cared for as it ought to be, but the old homes and other buildings surrounding it are very nice.

We happened upon this area while biking around Baltimore. So much to see in this one area!!! From the George Washington Monument to the variety of churches. From the artistry on some of the buildings to the clever graffiti on others. Everywhere you look there is something interesting to see. We were lucky to be there during Flower Mart! We... More

My buddy and I came here and stayed in a hostel called Hi Baltimore. The general area is quite nice and is very quiet at night. It was almost strange to see such little activity and so few cars. However, the neighborhood has a lot to offer. There are a few really nice bars around. One that I remember we... More
