This Basilica was much smaller than we expected. We missed the tour so we had to walk around and explore on our own. The crypt in the basement is a must see. There is metered parking on the street.

We took one of the official tours of the basilica -- very well narrated; lots of history going back to some of our Founding Fathers and the religious environment at the time. Interior was restored to its original "open and vibrant" self, with some additions...More

Beautiful and peaceful. The underground shrine was creepy yet welcoming. I would definitely recommend stopping here, as mother Theresa, the pope, presidents, Native American chiefs, etc. have made their stop here as well.

Didn’t make it to join the guided tour from the start but nevertheless it’s a somewhat historical and symbolic place (especially for those interested, which i am not). So I paid a quick walk-around and semi-self-guided tour.

We had our investitures of new Knights and Ladies of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Scepulchre here this morning. What a stunning Basilica. Even more so when the Cardinal is presiding over the ceremony.

Depending onn your time limits, you can visit this beautiful church, or just walk by and admire the graceful architecture as you go through the downtown.

If you are interested in history or just visiting the city, I would certainly make this church part of your trip, it is well worth it. If you are interested in attending mass, there is free parking in a close by garage on Sundays. It...More

I was staying at the Kimpton which was only a few blocks away from the Basilica so it was a short walk to mass there. Outside the church is great, towering high over most of the buildings in the area. Inside it gets even better,...More

The church itself does not have parking however there are 2 garages close by. We opted to park on a side street and use metered parking

I agree, although it is not far from the Amtrak station, since you are not familiar with Baltimore, a cab would be your best and safest bet.
