Having read many of Poe's books and writings and having visited many graveyards throughout the world, we found this an interesting place to visit. There were also many graves of the people involved in the War of 1812, especially interesting after visiting Ft. McHenry National Park, also in Baltimore. Many people would just quickly walk through this graveyard, but time... More

So, we've all read his works and know about some of his allegedly creepy behaviors. However, this is a nice, low-key place to stop and think. Poe probably had some mental health issues - he was kicked out of UVA for not paying his debts and he seemed to have spent most of his time drunk. Too bad that we... More

Well people it's a graveyard located on the grounds of a very beautiful church so expect to feel both uneasy and peaceful at the same time (depending of course on your own personal disposition around gravesite). From a personal perspective this was a worthwhile stop over while in Baltimore. They've done a good job with providing historical information about Poe... More

The monument is beautiful. Graveyard now surrounded by buildings but still worth visiting. Poe and Baltimore are closely linked, as in the Ravens team.

Great to see the burial place of Poe, but it is indeed a graveyard, and therefore not for everyone...but my former English major friends thought it was pretty neat! Make sure to make your way both to the current gravesite and the original gravesite, and check out the other cool old graves. Be aware of the area and park in... More

I could almost sense his beating heart as I walked into this hallowed place, allowing me to vicariously feel as if I was part of one of his stories. Why else would I be standing here?
