We had the worst experience ever at the museum/science center, especially considering it's meant for children. Today, on 01/07/2024, we visited the Maryland Science Center for their Baltimore downtown day. There is an activity on the third floor where kids can push a swinging board with a pen drawing on it.

After two girls in line drew with the pink pen, it was my boy's turn. He asked the staff if he could use a blue pen, which is his favorite color. The staff responded with a very rude voice, saying, 'No, you CANNOT.' We were all shocked, thinking it might be a joke at first. Unfortunately, he meant it, and the little boy couldn't use the color he wanted because the staff wasn't willing to change the pen on the drawing board.

My boy was frightened by the unfriendly voice and wanted to leave. He refused to go back to the third floor because of it. Visiting the Maryland Science Center has been our family's annual event, but not anymore. I suggest that families with kids DO NOT visit this unfriendly place.

Buy a membership, because you will want to spend more than one day here. Many hands-on exhibits that engaged two people in their seventies and their two grandchildren, ages 4 and 8. Excellent descriptions of the science.

I took my my 2 teens there and yes, while it's probably geared towards the younger crowd, we actually had fun! Dinosaurs, space, planetarium. We got there when it first open at 10am, so we had no crowds. I would definitely recommend for age group

Really great hands on science museum, my son still loves it. They have everything from Dinosaurs to Space. Exhibits dealing with the human body, the planets and space travel, to many, many hands on displays of science principles and properties. IMAX theater and Planetarium.

Annual pass holder who visits 5-8 times per year with the kids. So much to see and do. Love the hands-on exhibits. Staff members all love science and are great teachers. Each time we go we find new adventures and new things to learn!

My husband and I brought out two young sons here and we all had a great time! There were so many hands on activities for our boys and we were all highly entertained for our visit. We will definitely be back!

The exhibits were good but crowded. However, the bathrooms were dirty and the cafeteria was chaos. There was no seating and our whole school had to sit on the floor which was dirty the plaster was broken on the walls, mold in the walls, the floor was lifting, and cobwebs were everywhere.
