I visited this State Park and the Balmorhea Park the same day and the admission was good for both. I took the scenic drive to the top and could see the entire park.

We let our teenagers choose the locale for our spring break vacation, and we loved this park! Walked/hiked for 2 hours, and found some beautiful local agate rocks also.

Although the Indian Lodge was closed for refurbishments and maintenance, the restaurant was just what we needed after the long drive across Texas. Very good camping and RV sites within the beautiful park. Be sure and drive up to the top of the park for...More

We had an annual pass to the state park and it saved us about $24. If you are going to more than one state park - and there are a couple in the area - it might be with checking out the annual pass. We...More

Well worth the $24 for a family of 4. Picnicked up at the Skyline Drive scenic lookout waiting for the sunset. Did not disappoint. Facilities are numerous and clean.

Visiting in late February we enjoyed the bird blind photography and visits to the top of the mountain for night skies. One daylight visit to overlook rewarded with observing large group of aoudad sheep below. A great State Park!

The bird blinds are actually luxurious. Lots of hidden treasures in the park, particularly in second half of skyline drive/ccc road. The Kings table was such a treat that we went back and packed a dinner to enjoy the sunset from there.

Renovations are underway is parts of the park but it's spectacular location and great scenery is always there. It's a real place of peace and quite under dark night sky's.

We stayed in the RV campground for a week and enjoed the beauty all around. Hiking was a disappointment - VERY rocky and dry. Also, it wasn't fun having no internet or phone service andhaving to drive to the top of the mountain daily to...More

There is no where to swim at the park, but Balmorrhea State Park is about 33 miles away.

A day isn't enough time, period. A super short hike, maybe check out the fort, going to the observatory during the day would eliminate what it's made for. Going to Marfa would be very time consuming. I go to places like this... More

It's in Marfa. Actually outside of Marfa on Highway 90 near Valentine, Texas between Alpine and Marfa. You cannot miss it. Search for "Prada Marfa" for more details.
