Hike or cycle through the mountains. Drive the scenic loop near dusk and you might see a nice size mule deer. Pack some snacks and hike...the trails we were on were moderate difficulty and took about 2-2.5 hrs. Very clean. Supposed to have golden eagles...More

Davis Mountains State Park goes the extra mile for their visitors. They have a great interpretive center suitable for young and old. The bird habit connects to the center allowing a good view of their feathered visitors. Plus there is a nicely labeled pollinator garden...More

We drove through because of knee surgery. Many places to camp and hike. I found they even had an adobe state hotel that included a restaurant. Surprise. Make reservations way in advance.

Nestled at the bottom of the Blue Davis Mountains and very edge of the Chihuahua Desert, this gem still has every Texas attribute; open, tough, and beautiful. Local wildlife include coyotes, pronghorn antelope, white tail deer, an occasional mountain lion and bobcats. Hotel is built...More

$20 per night plus $6 each person entrance fee daily. That's fine if you have facilities that can be used. Grounds have accumulated trash, deteriorated fire rings and bath facilities that look and perform like they are 30 years old. They allow HORDES of people...More

We stayed at Indian Lodge for 3 nights and were very pleased. The park rangers were helpful and kind people. The pool was clean and the atmosphere breathtaking. I didn't want to leave.
