We thought this would be pretty interesting. But it is a lousy thing to visit and not worth your time. Yes it us free of cost. But it is really just a pile of old junk leftover from the cannery in musty stinky buildings. Some...More

The large old former cannery building, was filled with boats, canning machinery, photos, a few films, informative signs, some handwritten. There were no guides nor people to answer questions--it's an interesting place to wander and learn, right on the waterfront.

Free museum, worth stopping by to see. Old processing equipment and some good film clips showing what the cannery was like when in operation.

Enjoyed touring this museum. There are videos to watch about how the cannery operated so this tour could possible take an hour including viewing the machines and gillnet boat.

Not having grown up in the Northwest, I was not aware of the long history of fishing and canning in the Astoria area. The museum was well laid out and the displays told a comprehensive story of this essential industry in the area's history. I...More
