We were visiting friends in Ponte Vedra and were treated to an evening at the Symphony in Jacksonville. What a fun and interesting evening we had! They offer what they call “Symphony in 60.” This evening, it was a special event to thank the symphony’s...More

Went to the "Bond & Beyond" performance and thought it was outstanding. The orchestra was smaller than I expected, but they are all very talented. The guest conductor, Michael Krajewski, was an absolute hoot! I was not expecting music and comedy, but he was very...More

The Jacksonville Symphony performs in Jacoby Hall, a beautiful, modern facility at the Times Union Center, which sits on the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. It's a great place to see a performance. The symphony is enjoyable and plays a diversified repertoire, including Symphony...More

The supply and demand conditions of the global classic music industry have given us a tremendous opportunity to enjoy very good and energetic performances in the cosy and well managed concert house. We will even get Rene Fleming coming to the January Gala!

My wife and I just attended the Bond and Beyond Pop Concert and were very disappointed in the show. The above rating reflects our opinion of the overall concert but mainly the music selection and the guest singer. The Jacksonville Symphony itself was OUTSTANDING as...More

The symphony is an average orchestra but did an adequate performance. It might be better off avoiding imitation of better known orchestras in the large cities and try something like the Boston Pops programs.

We have had great times at the symphony, why not try it yourself ? Parking is good, access to the venue is easy.

We saw "Bugs Bunny at the Symphony", which was nothing but laugh out loud fun while listening to beautiful music. Lovely theatre but not stuffy. A place for all ages. They even had a photo area with props!

Thoroughly enjoy the performances, with regards to the professionalism of the musicians and conductor. I am perplexed about the extremely uncomfortable seating. Is anything being done to enhance the comfort and space of the seats? We are not extremely large individuals and the seats seem to be very small. Our son is a large guy, stands approx. 6'5". He could not endure the full experience due to the extreme discomfort. It's sad that we have such a great orchestra and a really nice symphonic venue, yet the seats are miserable.

There are seats along the sides of the orchestra seating which are separate chairs. These can be adjusted to anyone's height. good luck....
Where were you seated? I am debating between Orchestra section row Y vs. Mezzanine Box seats for Porgy and Bess in February. I'm just not sure if the Mezzanine Box seats would be further away than the Orchestra section.... Decisions, decisions!

We've done both. For the New Year's Eve concert, we were in row M (just in front of the side exits) and the audio was wonderful there. We had box seats for the Christmas Pops concert on the 14th and they're just as good in... More
What is the view like from the Mezzanine Box seats? Would Orchestra Row Y allow for a better view at the same price?

To be honest, you cannot go wrong with the views no matter which ticket you decide to purchase. The last time I was there, I had seats in the Mezzanine Box and they were great as you are on the second story and you can still... More
