Considerably more wild and untamed than a tended garden, the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens is nonetheless stunning in its beauty and scope. Centered around a lake, the site includes many walking trails of various length, many highlighted by informational signage about the plants and land features. I wouldn't hesitate returning on a warmer day to enjoy longer walks.

Admission is based on the honor system, although Venmo and PayPal options exist for those like me not carrying cash these days.

Finally got to visit here for the Day of the Dead Lantern Festival! Of course not prime bloom time, but perfect for the occasion. Beautiful park with a lake in the center for great pix taking, lots of trails to meander on. Wish will all of the emails we received for the Event they would have had more direction upon arrival. Everyone was just kind of sitting and/or wandering waiting for some direction. 1st time event was very well received, but definitely some improvements, like advertising, for next year. Will definitely go back in the Spring.

Lovely place. We didn’t find a visitor center. A couple was releasing a turtle. This is how local species get decimated. No ranger around. Why are all. These old reviews keep showing up in my drafts?

Beautifully curated with beautiful plants and well-maintained trails. Great for any age! A must see for visitors and wish we had something like this closer to my home!

I really enjoyed coming here even though it was quite chilly on this February day. We walked around for about half an hour.

There were lots of beautiful trees with Spanish moss which I absolutely love. There were also lots of plants and they were labeled so you could see what everything was.

My favorite plants were the camellias and they were all blooming. They were gorgeous. They also had lots of benches with backs on them. It would be a nice place to come just to enjoy some quiet time. It was so peaceful. I wish we had a place like this near where I live. It was just my kind of place.

Nice way to get into some of the natural landscape of Jacksonville. The walk around the lake is a must do.

The garden is a great place to visit but the dazzling lights during Christmas is not worth the money. So disappointed. I was looking forward to it but just left with wanting more.

Thoroughly enjoyed the naturalistic gardens, trees and walking paths. Free entry; however, donations suggested ( and warranted). Trail maps available.

This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Even though it is very close to the city you feel a million miles away. There are hundreds of plants to explore. It offers beautiful views around a pond. There are several hiking trails to enjoy. It is a great place to walk, read, relax, or take amazing pictures. Families are welcome and it is a good place introduce children to nature.

Suggested donation $3. 120 acres. Nice trail system. Neat and clean. Trails should be better marked from the parking lot area.

We are glad we went to the arboretum and gardens.
