So enjoyed our day at Fire Island. There is quite a bit to do here, but the 32 mile long Island can be hard to reach. A lot of it is only reachable by ferry or boat. The visitors center is small but cute and you can't beat these beautiful beaches. Looking forward to hiking when it's a little bit... More

I went here for my first time this past summer and it was truly an escape from normal life as we know it with transportation busy streets. People slow down and enjoy life more it seems when on Fire Island. The pace was so slow and it was a beautifully kept attractive beach! A variety of restaurants to choose from... More

Stayed in The Pines for about five days and spent a lot of time on this beach. Mid September is a fabulous time to be here!!! Still warm but with fabulous sunsets and sunrises. It's a must do!

Fire Island is fantastic. It is very long and there are many different towns along the way. Most very family friendly, and a few geared towards the partiers I spent alot of time on

The day was great hot day. We arrived at Ocean Beach and headed straight to the Beach. The waves were great. Sand was a little hot but the beach was empty. It was great just sitting there and listing to the waves. We walked the beach and the local area had a late lunch at Flynn's. As usual food was... More

What an awesome place! Both sides of the coast are beautiful. The Ocean and the Bay. The board walk through the dunes to the lighthouse is a must do

We went by boat, staying in Fire Island Pines Marina. You can also access the Pines by ferry from Sayville, with ample parking across from the ferry dock. The ferry from there also goes to Cherry Grove. Both of these towns are gay friendly and are also family friendly. The Pines is more upscale than the other towns on Fire... More

Fire Island National Sea Shores Island is amazing by day or by night. You can see so many stars! The beaches are pristine and the ocean is clear clear clear. We've been to almost every town on Fire Island. Check out the Sunken Forest for sure!

Can walk to the island from field 5 of robert mosses state park. takes about 45 minutes when walking with leisure. Can bike on the boardwalk also. Great views of the ocean and local wildlife ecosystem. Small town; no automobiles, relaxing and peaceful. Nice people and good food at some locals places.

Took a day trip to Davis Park, and the view to the Atlantic is quite spectacular. Very nice, soft, somewhat narrow fine sand beach. You're in walking distance to a casino restaurant, a bar with a good snack bar, and a grill, so don't worry about food. Be sure and keep good track of the ferry schedule. Ferry is very... More
