We ate at American Bounty. The food was outstanding. Several servers were graduating the next day. We enjoyed discussing the school and their plans while enjoying a fine meal. Ask if there is a sommelier available to assist with pairings.

If you like food this is the place to visit. The campus is gorgeous. The street signs and streets are cleverly illustrated and named. The gift shop is small but filled with loads of interesting things. It's got a superb collection of cookbooks, of course! You can see students as they work. The Apple Pie Bakery is a must stop.... We took advantage of the recent Hudson Valley Restaurant Week to visit The Culinary Institute's French restaurant, The Bocuse. This may be a student restaurant, but everything about the place is first class. Did you know they even keep a registry of your visits? Beginning with a gracious welcome, we thoroughly enjoyed our three course lunch. Especially delicious were the... More

If you are in the area, do stop at one of the CIA restaurants. The campus overlooks the Hudson River. The buildings and roadways are almost magical (well, it is very clean, very nicely landscaped, and everyone is in uniform). Everyone is exceptionally courteous, friendly, helpful, they really know what hospitality should be. We lunched at the Apple Pie Bakery,... More

Had stopped in for lunch and brunch a few times, so decided to plan a special dinner with my wife. Service was good, as was the food, but we've eaten many meals in NYC that were as good, or better, for less. No tipping, but they charge an 18% gratuity that goes to the school. The staff are all paying... More

We've always wanted to eat at the CIA and finally made it. We had dinner at the Paul Bocuse restaurant and it was fabulous! The atmosphere was sensational as was the service. The food? Ah, unbelievable. I rarely eat dessert but the ice cream made at your table was unreal. See the photos. Also, if you can, get a table... More

We dropped her off to begin school last month. This month we drove up for a long weekend visit. As usual, the campus is overwhelming and majestic. Even though it was cold, we still walked around outside and visited the bookstore. Purchased a few things. During a break of cleaning her dorm, my friend who traveled with me, needed a... More

My wife and I met another two couple at the Post Road Brew House...it was the first time we've eaten at the Culinary Institute. All of the waiters and chefs are students at the school....the kids start out working in the kitchen and eventually work their way out to the restaurant area. The chairs are wooden (no pillow) and not... More

You can always count on the CIA to deliver impeccable service and incredible food. They do not disappoint with their new Post Road Brew Pub, which is only open for a limited time for lunch and dinner. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious flat bread as our appetizer. All the ingredients were fresh and the crust was perfectly crisp.... More

Fabulous service, wonderful food. It was interesting to learn that this magnificent building had been a Jesuit monastery. Various restaurants offer various types of cuisines from French to Italian, American etc. We arrived prior to the 6pm tIme, when the restaurants open. Excellent idea! We were seated in a cozy tavern with a full menu. Each course was wonderful from... More
