Such a wonderful lady

Well worth a visit. Guided tour by very knowledgeable guides and the cottage top visit. Couple hours will do it.

This was probably my favorite historic site of all the FDR related sites that you can see in one trip. You can do a combo tour of this home, the presidential library, and FDR's getaway house in the woods, Top Cottage, as well. It's all excellent. Give yourself a couple of days to do it all. And don't forget the... More

This was a nice tour to go along with other Hyde Park historic sites. Tells a good story about the life of Eleanor Roosevelt and family. The tour guide was excellent. Would recommend getting a tour ticket, then going to see other places like Roosevelt home and Vanderbilt home.

Fdr was an accomplished president. His wife was no less impressive and you may find yourself wondering why her face isn't the one on the US dime. This stop is a must if you have daughters. An interesting example of women owning a business and having their own factories at a time when it was unheard of.

Great cap to the day after visiting FDRs home and library. Short film to start on Eleanor's life, most focus on her life after FDRs death. Tour covers only 1st floor, but contains lots of authentic furniture and artifacts from her time living there.

This was a nice tour - well done by park staff. I was in a wheelchair and the house was not built to be accessible, but the staff helped me see everything. This tour is most interesting if one has seen the Roosevelt estate and museum.

This tour is more about learning about Eleanor, Her friends and Val-Kill Industries than seeing the physical home , though it is interesting to see as a home.

This unassuming cottage says a lot about the woman who owned. The pond and grounds are very pretty; the house is very plain, was once a factory. Our guide was amazing, an expert who was passionate about her subject and shared her expertise with us in a very engaging manner.

A visit will let you know immediately why this retreat was so important to Eleanor Roosevelt. The cottage is warm, inviting, and comfortable. Our NPS guide was respectful, knowledgeable and so obviously caring about the stories he shared with us. The acreage, the stream, the gardens and the idyllic setting are unforgettable.
