My hat's off to the organizers and re-enactors who present this yearly event. The action is interesting and informative. The reenactment is narrated so you have a good feel for how the part of the battle you are watching relates to the total battle. Plan on a full day. There is some down time but this provides an opportunity to... More

A great event not just for history buffs. I loved listening to the various period musical acts and walking through the living history encampments. There is so much to see here. The re-enactment's are well done and complete with horses, carriages and artillery fire and they even do a live mortar demonstration. My only complaint, which is a fairly large... More

My son is passionate about re-enactments and really enjoys the history, uniforms and all. We got here on July 3, for "Pickett's Charge" and the Calvary. I was very impressed of the size of this event and all of the people it takes to make it work. Parking was great, the volunteers helped us park with ease. It was no... More

This annual reconstruction and reenactment of the three major battles of Gettsyburg, back in 1863, was a great experience. Yes, it was hot, but most of the US is hot during early July. But if you are a Southerner like me, you take it in stride. The actual event takes place about 3 miles from the fields of Gettysburg, as... More

The history came alive for me here, warm sunny day, all the volunteers are special to take time to participate. Very organized, no lines, good food, nice day

Enjoyed the whole experience...lots of tents set up to show how things were done on & around the battlefield. Everyone was friendly & willing to take time to fully explain what they did at that time. Spend the extra Zxx. $10.00 each for bleacher seats or take your own to sit on the bank and arrive early for the reenactment... More

We attended the 153rd anniversary of Picket's Charge as part of our Gettysburg weekend. We highly recommend this event. There are two battles, a mortar demostration/competition, period reenactors and history areas. There are many people like morticians, doctors, cooks all telling the tale of how it was during the battles. There were activity tents with actors protraying important people and... More

My family attended the 07/02/16 Saturday events. We had bleacher seats which are not the most comfortable of wood seating. The first event of this day was a simulated Calvary battle. It started late and the host spoke throughout the whole event. I was not so impressed that the Union was represented by only a few horses but the South... More

As being a History buff as well as a Civil War buff.... I had a blast. It was just plain fun and was able to talk to a few of them and had a good time. There were plenty of medical staff there for any medical occasion. They even brought in Army personnel to help out. Plenty of event staff... More

Just as disclaimer to make sure I am reviewing correct event: this in fact took place at Pumping station rd. Came from Ohio for this event, attended 7/3 (day 3). For this day there were 2 main events; the Custer calvary reenactment and a representation of part of Picket's charge. This was our first reenactment to attend. The first day... More
