Overview
More
See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

A visit to Gettysburg requires a mandatory stop at the Gettysburg Diorama. This unique experience has America’s largest civil war diorama and a little 30 minute show that highlights the major components of the battle. It could do with a little modernising, particularly with the...More

This was an excellent overview of the Battle in a format that translated perfectly to seeing the actual battle sites. It summarizes all three days of the battle and gives you an easy to remember format using scale models as well as short films

The Diorama was a large, miniature display of the entire Battle of Gettysburg. The city, buildings, fields and hills were represented with miniature horses, soldiers, cannons, etc. As the 30-minute video played, it lit up the section of the diorama being described in the film....More

We went because my boyfriends father had seen it years ago and remembered it. I'm glad we went for nostalgia purposes but it maybe could use a little updating.

If you are there touring Gettysburg, please make sure you stop by the Diorama and see the actual battlefield reenactment done in Diorama fashion. The theatrics and special effects make it spectacular. This is a much see and do place.

My son wanted to see this museum for awhile. So, after my doctor's appointment, we went. It is one of the few museums open in the winter. This was our first time. It is not as elaborate as The Visitors' Center, but, there isn't remotely...More

It was such a surprise when we went up the stairs and laid our eyes on this painting in the round! With the lighting and the audio display, we felt like we were part of it. Actually brought tears to my eyes several times. Fantastic!

I'm sorry but you have us confused with the Cyclorama. The Gettysburg Diorama is an 800 sq ft model of the entire battlefield and the program takes you through all three days of the battle.

Massive diorama the shows exactly how and where the battle was fought over the three days. Definitely do this to help you get a better understanding of where exactly the war was fought. Tickets were very reasonably priced also.
