There is so much to see in Gettysburg that the people at the visitors center can really help you determine what is best for you. The museum is wonderful, especially the cyclorama.

Miss the old visitors center. It had more interesting items from the battle. Plus it had the light map. It was a great show of the battlefield with the use of a scale 3d map of Gettysburg with ittle light showing battles throughout the 3 days. Cyclorama panting is nice though.

Well there are several great reviews about the overall appeal of this memorial so I would add a few other things. It's just incredible to me to stand in front of the wall displaying all the different types of bullets and items fired from cannons besides cannon balls. For the most part, the soldiers were killing and wounding each other... More

Great place to find out more about the Civil War, and the price this great country paid to secure our freedom, and civil rights. The whole town of Gettysburg is filled with the civil war history, and the residents are very helpful and aware of its history.

The parking lots are located around the main building and involves a lot of walking. The building is huge so they can handle a crowd. The main displays involve admission $. The museum store is open (free). Remember to take a map. You can follow its self-guiding tour and understand the basic battlefields. We did this and the tour lasted... More

Get a driving tour CD before you arrive or at the bookstore, drive the battlefields west, south and east of town (about 3 hours), then go to the cyclorama. The film is very basic and the museum is noisy with all the videos playing. Far too much text, which overwhelms the artifacts.

Excellent portrayal of all aspects of the significant battle waged there. Loved the movie, the cyclorama, the artifact museum, the ranger talks and the well laid out tour.

This was a great day trip out of DC and the museum is well worth the admission fee. The highlight of the museum is the cyclorama... The battlefield itself is larger than I thought it would be and can take a while to see when you go out to tour the various monuments and positions. I think our favorite view... More

Well worth the trip. I am going again. Hopefully for more than a day. Price is reasonable and many things to do there. Nice museum and film. The cyclorama is the same as when I was a child! Will visit again soon!
