Beautiful building, lots to see, some free, place to buy tickets to attractions, very clean restrooms, lovely gift shop. Rangers are there to answer questions. You can buy audio tour cds for your car. First place to stop before going to battle ground.

The visitor center is free unless you opt for a movie or the museum section. I'm sorry but I don't know if you can enter and leave then come back. I would think so but not sure.
