St. Rita of Cascia is a Roman Catholic patron saint of impossible causes. Her US National Shrine in Philadelphia is absolutely exquisite, with statuary, murals, a relic of the Saint, a dedicated Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, and a gift shop with very reasonable prices. I got a set of Rosary beads and a case for them plus a prayer book for... More

Our pilgrimage group from Virginia was blessed to visit this church and shrine. Fr Jim provided a great tour of the church and the shrine below which included much information about St Rita who was not known to many of us. The upper church is just beautiful and the shrine below has many relics and exhibits relating to St Rita.... More

What a beautiful place to get in touch with God and yourself. Meet some of St Rita's patron saints, spend time feeling the communion of saints. Ask her for her intersections with our Father and you will get a peace you never knew existed from God.

We attended Mass at the Shrine and then stayed a while to rest and take in the simple but beautiful shrine. We had our 3 year old and it was a great place to let her toddle around as we said some of the prayers and viewed the shrine.

The National Shrine of St Rita is located one floor below St Rita's Church. The Church is over 100 years old. Location: one block south of Washington Avenue, on Broad Street. Convenient Parking Lot on site. The Gift Shop is worth visiting. The Shrine is very well designed and interesting. The life of the15th Century Saint (from Cascia, Italy) obviously... More
