One of the better Vietnam Veteran's Memorials in the country. Well thought and well maintained. The names of the service members from Philadelphia are carved into the walls. It is well lit at night so an evening visit is doable.

We visited the memorial as part of a walk along Penns landing. We passed through Spruce park with everyone enjoying the festivities to this quiet area. Such a contrast to the list of names of young people who died so far away

A cement monument showing the thousands of Americans who died during the Vietnam War. How many of these people were willing to sacrifice their lives and how many were not?

This memorial is a respectful tribute to those who gave the ultimate in the Vietnam War. Names are engraved along a half-circle wall; sketches, quotes, a map of southeast Asia, etc. are engraved upon other panels. There is plenty of space to walk around and linger. Grounds are well-landscaped. Small and large flags flank the wall and general area; it... More

As you explore the vibrant waterfront scene, be sure to stop for a quiet moment to reflect at the impressive Memorial, modeled on the wall in Washington & dedicated to Vietnamese veterans of the Viet Nam War, who fought for freedom & should not be forgotten.

Have you ever been to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington? If you have, than you've been here. The only difference is that this is more local that that. It's still a very nice memorial, even if it is out of the way.

We happened to stumble of this memorial. It was beautiful! Although part of it was roped off and we couldn't see it. I think it is wonderful that Philadelphia has this memorial. A tour guide stated to is that inside one of the large stones is a copy of the names of the soldiers on the memorial in Washington D.C..

I was taking a walk along the waterfront and came up the Vietnam Memorial. I had not idea Philadelphia had its own memorial. It is a beautiful tribute to all who served, and a wonderful addition to the waterfront. Well done Philadelphia!

I’ve had the good fortune to visit Washington, DC’s iconic Vietnam War Veterans Memorial, and others scattered around the country. Born in 1952, I was on the cusp of being drafted, but an older sibling was. Those were turbulent years, with much social discord. When veterans returned, there was no hero welcome. It is nice to see—belatedly—these valiant soldiers who... More

Located in the historical center, not far from the Korean war memorial, this one was built on the funds collected by Phila workers. Designed in the simple style similar to Washington memorial, it is not beautified by sculptures. Texts and the whole view of the memorial - the pain of the memory in the US, still pain
