Philadelphia hidden gem and cannot miss sight is located inside the Curtis Center. The Tiffany Mosaic is a beautiful art piece open and free to the public for viewing and admiring. I highly recommend a visit here to experience a Maxfield Parrish original.

Located in the lobby of The Curtis Center is a radiant mosaic which was designed in collaboration between Maxfield Parrish and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Composed of more than 100,000 pieces of favrile glass, each one is hand-fired to achieve absolute perfection in each of the 260 colors. Take a moment out of your busy day, sit on one of the... More

I stumbled onto this wonderful piece of art quite by accident. It's called THE DREAM GARDEN and was constructed by Tiffany Studios in 1914-15. It's made of Favorite Glass I think. It covers the whole back wall of the Curtis Building at 6th & Walnut and is across the street from the West entrance to Independence Hall. It is so... More

It is a soothing experience in Philadelphia’s summer heat to walk into the cool Curtis Center Building (Walnut and 6th St.) and, at the end of the lobby, encounter the enchantingly spring-like Dream Garden mosaic, a 49 x 15 ft pastoral landscape in 260 shades of the most luscious colors and color shades. As a gesture of civic pride, the... More

The Dream Garden is a gem hidden just a block from Independence Hall in the Curtis Building. The beautiful glass mosaic was created for the lobby of the Beaux Arts style building by Maxfield Parrish and Louis Comfort Tiffany - a collaboration that yielded a dreamlike landscape of glowing glass tiles. It is romantic and other-worldly --like a large painting... More

Considered on of the great artistic collaborations of the 20th Century this Dream Garden is just minutes from the Historic District/Liberty Bell in the Curtis Center lobby. Find it and be rewarded with the experience of viewing this masterpiece which could be of greater value than the building which contains it. Curtis publishing was a major force in the 20th... More

Happened upon this after seeing the many outdoor mosaics on South Street. This one is so lovely. In reading the plaque, it is hard to image they had thought it could be broken into pieces/panels to move. I am so glad the money was raised to keep it in place.

Free and pretty. Not busy, but not much to see. Worth stopping by but it will be a quick visit. You can easily get a picture of the entire mural.

This is an undiscovered treasure of Philadelphia. Located in the Curtis Center lobby one walks in and there it is, filling the whole wall in front of you. Set behind a non functioning fountain, the picture is of a garden with a valley and mountains behind filled with fall colors. It is breath taking. It looks like a post card... More

We wandered into the lobby of the Curtis building near Independence hall and were entranced by this wonderful mosaic. You can feel as well as see the influences of both Tiffany and Parrish. Well worth a stop while strolling in the historic area.
