If you are aware of the Masons, then you must visit this place. The place won't reveal much about the masons or how they work or their beliefs but the guided tour would show your around the temple, explain each room, the chairs and the architechture. A very good place to spend an afternoon. Student discount: yes Close to downtown:... More

We were fortunate to catch the last tour of the day on a recent visit to Philadelphia. The architecture is exquisite and the guides are very knowledgeable sharing their Masonic history. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in the Masonic traditions or if you want to know what this fellowship is all about. Cost is very reasonable and... More

This is one of the greatest building in the city. Although I have no idea what it does, but it never fails to capture my eyes every time I look from elsewhere into this area.

The architecture is amazing, and you do learn about the Mason's. However, you only learn what they think is ok for the public to know. It turkey is a secrete society.

I have always had a fascination with freemasonry. The tour through the Masonic temple was neat as each room was based on a different theme. The tour guide was great about answering any and all questions that we had. He was very knowledgeable. After talking to the tour guide, he informed me they have an early print of the Book... More

The tour of this building is a education in architectural design as well as Masonic History. The lodge rooms are large and spectacular. Each is of a specific theme: Corinthian, Egyptian, Oriental, Ionic, Norman and so on. The floating stairway is unique for this period of construction. Guides are knowledgeable and friendly. Located directly across from Philadelphia City Hall allowing... More

A docent will take the viewer through seven rooms all with different architecture and design symbols. Fascinating and beautiful with some history of the Masons provided while on walking tour.

We took a tour and were very impressed with the information about 'The Masons', as well as, the beautiful rooms. We're going to take our houseguest next month. Oh, bring you camera. You're gonna want to show some photos of this place!

Lived here for decades but finally visited with out of town guest as our excuse. Sorry to have put it off so long. Exquisite building. Great guide led us through the various themed meeting rooms, and to admire artifacts and art work in abundance. A city treasure -- and just across the street from City Hall. (A tour of that... More

This structure was built in 1873, before Philadelphia's City Hall, which is directly across the street. It majesty, grandeur and presence are the perfect compliment to Freemasonry and what it stands for. It is meticulously maintained; there is not a light bulb out nor a cigarette butt on the sidewalk. One could spend hours in here touring the rooms and... More
