What an authentic experience I had here at the Academy of Music. The theatre itself is a prime example of the opera house that no longer exists in our modern world. It is a gem to behold and even more so when there is a good performance to see. I joined the 25th Anniversary tour of ALW's The Phantom of... More

The classic feel of this theater hits you from the moment you set foot in the door. You know you are in for a good night of Ballet, Music, or whatever the event. Great acoustics, wonderful lighting, big stage. It doesn;t get any better than this! Located right on Broad Street in the heart of the city, there are plenty... More

We attended Evita here on Saturday evening. This was our first time at the Academy. (Yes I know, eventhough we live in Philly, we have never attended a show there. Folks that live in New York don't visit the top of the Empire State either.) Having seen Evita, a "rock opera" as described by A.L. Webber, in New York, we... More

We just got back from seeing the incredible Beatles Tribute Band ”Rain” Other than the smallish seats and poor legroom, ( but I am 6'3”...lol!) It's a great venue! Great staff too! All very friendly and very helpful!

Visited here to experience a performance of Rain, A Tribute to the Beatles. The intimacy of the venue definitely added to our enjoyment of the show. Staff were very helpful and courteous.

We have been to the Academy of Music several times over the past year to see musicals. The auditorium is beautiful and has wonderful acoustics. Seating is comfortable. We will be returning again soon.

Milan has alla Scala, Buenos Aires has Teatro Colon and Philadelphia has The Academy of Music, and old grand performing arts centers with great history, magnificent acoustics and incredible décor. After visiting the three halls I can say that Philadelphia should be very proud of this venue and its place in the great theatres of the world. The seats are... More

Academy of Music is gorgeous perfection! The perfect venue for the Arts! The outside architecture is beautiful, but the inside is spectacular! The renovation project wasa huge success. The main chandelier is perfection and the acoustics are noted as some of the best in the world. My favorite venue for anything musical-Opera, Ballet, Theatre, Orchestra, Popular music. I have visted many... More

I absolutely love the Academy of Music. I am always stoked when I buy tickets to an event I want to see and it is scheduled to be there. I have been here many times and have seen countless Pennsylvania Ballet performances, operas, concerts, comedy acts, etc. It's one of the historic gems of the city. The interior is so... More
