It Can Be Overwhelming
Nov 2021
I have been to Philly several times. I only go to Reading Terminal Market when I know being in a crowd won't bother me, otherwise the people, noise, he many choices jammed into the terminal can be too much. I have had friendly service at every restaurant and store. The food is good, especially the baked goods. It is an interesting mix of Pennsylvania Dutch, fish monger and butcher shop, Philly cheese steaks, pretzels, scrapple, pastries, produce, chocolate, bbq, Asian food, touristy stuff, etc. There are only a few places to sit for a meal or snack. If you are up for it, don't miss it!

Unbelievable-could eat here every day!

The terminal is very busy but so worth it. So many places to choose from. I wish it had been open later than 6:00 PM.

We had lunch at this place during our entire stay in Philly. We were never disappointed. We ate at the Thai Place. The Dutch place and a turkey place. In addition, Bassett’s vanilla Carmel ice cream was amazing. Prices are reasonable. Place was very packed on a Saturday than it was during the week.

The best place in Downtown Philly to eat and shop
Nov 2021
I love coming to the Reading Terminal Market to eat, shop and experience downtown Philly at its best. I love the sites and smells of the market.

I love the Amish businesses of Dutch Eating Place, Beilers for Doughnuts and the Family Pretzel place for stuffed pretzels. The Chinese and Italian businesses offer all sorts of delicious sandwiches and dishes and it is hard to choose from.

I love Carmines for cheesesteaks, Beilers for Caramel Salted Doughnuts and the Hot Turkey Sandwiches at the Dutch Eating Place. The bummer was all the Amish businesses were closed that day but I still enjoyed a breakfast at the Oyster Place. It is just fun to wonder around.

This is a must when you are visiting Philly.

Good place for everyone to find what they want

It’s a giant food hall with a million eating options. All looked great. Also grocery and butchers for cook at home options. Seating is pretty limited so stale your claim before someone swoops in and takes your table.

Predator seating but amazing food options

This place gets mobbed. It is however spectacular to grab breakfast or lunch and people watch. There is food for everyone and the prices are reasonable. A must see if you are visiting the City

Amazing market and food hall
Oct 2021
I had never heard of this Market before stumbling upon it just a few blocks from my hotel on a recent trip to Philadelphia. The Market takes up an entire city block. It is a labyrinthine sensory feast, with vendors selling fresh meat, fish, produce and baked goods and a food hall with dozens of full-service and carry-out restaurants. There's so much great food here that it was hard to decide what places to try.

A must go! So many different restaurants, bakeries and sweets, you'll have a hard time deciding what you want! We probably went around the whole thing twice before deciding on what to have!

Loved getting food here as it was only a five minute walk from our hotel. You can get just about anything you want to eat and I would recommend going online first and finding some places that interest you. Then, download the map to see where that place is because this market is huge. There are almost 100 vendors and most of the vendors cook food to order.

A few of the places have a sit down counter but many of the vendors are to go only. Look for the sign or the tiles on the floor for where to line up. Biggest problem is lack of seating. This place is simply too popular to accommodate the crowds. We were fortunate enough to take our food back to a close by hotel room but they really need to add an area with additional seating.

Market is open 8 to 6 daily but many of the vendors are closed on Sunday, so go on a different day if possible. Because about 30 to 40% of the vendors are closed on Sunday, this causes long lines for the remaining open vendors.
