Just 30 minutes out of Vernal Ut, Dinosaur National Monument is a great family destination. Get up close and personal with a huge wall of dinosaur fossils at the quarry and the n afterwards explore the green river and petroglyphs left by ancient civilizations. They have really cool lizard petroglyphs that I have never seen anywhere else. There are great... More

If you are in to dinosaurs, fossils and evolution, this is a real must see. As with all American Parks and Monuments, the organisation is second to none. Slick transport fro Visitor centre to the Quarry, or you can walk if its not too hot. The Quarry face is spectacular, takes a few minutes to get your head around what... More

The national monument is an interesting place to visit. It is somehow different from the others NPs in the region since it probably has less scenic landscape but it is certainly worth visiting from a cultural point of view. First of all at the Dinosaur Quarry you can have a small self guided tour with nice infos about dinosaurs and... More

Not just for kids and not all about fossils of dinosaurs, the monument is a treasure trove of a number of glimpses into the past from ancient into the early 1900's, It is a large place and a good deal of it can be seen via car, but it is a hikers' paradise, don't pass it by or hurry through.... Stopped here 3 years ago the day the government closed the National Parks due to sequestering. We were so disappointed! So glad we went there this year. It was everything I dreamed about & more. Fascinating to see so many different kinds of fossils in one place. Highly recommend it if you are at all interested in dinosaurs or even... More

My 6 year old wanted to visit here for his birthday. It was a kindergartner's dream! And as a parent, I was incredibly impressed myself. The rangers at the Quarry and visitor's center were kind and helpful, and our minds were blown by all the dinosaur bones. It was just crazy to imagine that we were able to touch these... More

There is a lot of driving involved relative to anything else you will do at the monument, trails are short and far apart, with lots of scenic views in between, the park has four entrances, and none of them connect inside, so when you are done with a section, you have to go back to the highway to get to... We had been to the quarry museum years before, but it is more informative now. I didn't know there were quite a few petroglyphs and enjoyed finding them. The Green River is really green, and the scenery was great. Great hiking. We were very fortunate with wonderful weather even in November.

This is such an awesome place to go. Our kids loved it, but lots of interesting stuff for adults to learn if you're into history, dinosaurs, etc. Really nicely kept place with lots of well kept and thought out attractions. It's hard to believe this is only a National monument and not a National Park. Beautiful scenery.
