Can see this for miles away

You see this huge chunk of rock for miles away on the horizon and just wonder what is it, so you drive on and then find out.

Awesome rock! Enjoyed the paved-path walk around it. Saw some wildlife along the way. Loved seeing several sets of climbers scaling the walls; glad this is allowed.

Terrific trip. We walked the trail at the base of the Monument and were amazed by all the climbers! Not for the faint of heart for sure. It is a great Park!!

We went there about 7 pm and it was a very warm day. The trail was very easy to walk round all tarmac. The tower itself from every side was just a wow factor and as we were going round there were deer on the path which added to a very enjoyable walk

Visited this famous site after a freak April snowstorm. It made the visit even more stunning than expected. Unfortunately, the trails were icy and slippery, but this did not detract from the visit one iota. It turned out to be an almost religious experience. Devil's Tower is a "must see".

I have always wanted to visit Devils Tower since falling in love with it through the film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". This place is awesome and no photograph or film can really do it justice. It has to be visited to be appreciated. At the visitors centre I learn a lot, both from the excellent displays and from... It is not an exageration to say we crossed the country to go see, and more importantly, paint Devils Tower (acrylic on canvas, not vandalism). So with such expectations and long hours of looking at her, we can honestly say she never disappointed. We stayed below at the KOA (recommend) and she just kept changing -- clouds, shadows, colors, bigger,... More

If you have the time, visit this amazing place. It's about 90minutes from Rapid City through highway and scenic roads. You can really see it within a few hours. The walk around the Tower is easy and takes 30-45 minutes. There are other trails too. Make sure to stop in Prairie Dog Town, this field with all of these cute... More

A must see! Pictures of this majestic awesome natural wonder simply can not do it justice. You must walk up to and all the way around this amazing tower just to begin to feel the power of the earth and the ancient geology present here. Truly awe-inspiring, at least for me :)

I have wanted to see this monument since watching movie "Close Encounter of the Third Kind" with my mom when I was a child. I suppose this is mostly nostalgia for me. I must say it is enormous in sheer size. The highway and grounds are fairly flat all around. Then this giant rock/clay formation. You drive up and pay... More
