We did detour an hour just to see and were not disappointed. We didn't enter the park though, just enjoyed the view from the roadway. Really nice log cabin bar near the entrance. Not a final destination but well worth the detour.

We took the short loop right at the base of the tower as we were pressed on time. Informative markers along the way. We even saw some climbers on a few sides. I would try the outer loop if I went back.
