If you are a photogropher and like to shoot fall colors this is one option. The campground on the left before the trail head has some nice Aspen groves. I did not take the hike but will consider it next time.

We only did part of a hike here as we started after going to Hotcreek first. Amazing views and hardly any people in September. We will go back when we have more time. Oh and a great campground near the entrance.

Great little creek, would be fun to use as a tubing creek! The rapids look fun! If you didn't allow glass on the creek, it would still be a fun trip to the bottom! =D

Pretty steep along the creek, but looks like good fishing...fish weren't hitting b/c it was too early in the season. Depending on how far you want to go will impact the difficulty.

McGee Creek is a Short drive off of the 395. We took our two young children on a nice, one hour, horseback ride up into the canyon. We saw the beautiful streams, wild flowers, and breath taking views of the Sierras. The employees at McGee...More

Hi, I do remember seeing dogs on trails in the area, but can't recall this one specifically. Best to double check.
