We thoroughly enjoyed viewing the crater. We walked to the top of the site and took in the fabulous views. A couple of people at the site had waked to the bottom of the crater. down isn't bad but walking up would be quite a challenge. These people had walking sticks which had helped them We did not have sticks... More

If you have extra time to spare time in Death valley NP, this is a one of the must visit site. The Crater view is wonderful. There are three major trails at the crater. One trail goes from the parking area to the bottom of Ubehebe, a second circumnavigates the crater rim, while a third trail leads off to Little... More

How often do you get up close and personal with a volcanic crater? More importantly, how often do you get the chance to climb down into the crater? This is definitely one of those 'once in a lifetime' situations, and even though the agony of the climb back up will last for a few minutes, the memory of the experience... More

Awesome views. To appreciate the Crater you should take the time to walk around the crater, approx. 2 miles.

Several craters to walk to - nice view. To get there from Furnace Creek is 1 hour drive. We arrived early in the morning and it was good as few people there and we made good pictures.

This place is a good drive off the main route through the park. If you only have a day in the park there are many other vistas worth a visit. It's really just a big hole in the ground

This is out of the way with Scotty's Castle closed, but it is memorable. An explosive crater, it has a field of volcanic ask surrounding it with bare shrubs growing out of it. It is different from many of the other places to visit in Death Valley. No Grand Canyon, it is still amazing, though less so compared with Zabriskie... More

It was windy but an enjoyable walk. At fist glance it looks risky, but actually not a bad hike . Try the small one .

The view of the volcanic crater is different from other areas in the park. It is also cooler. Make sure to at least take the hiking trail to the small crater.

Get here before sunrise and watch the valley light up. The combination of shrubs and black sand makes for a photo event.
