After visiting Kill Devil Hills last fall, we were interested in more about the Wright Brothers. The museum explains some the next steps they took to patent and expand on their initial invention. Very informative exhibits.

This is a very neat, secluded piece of history. It's not hard to get to, but it's location has kept it from being developed. As a result, you're seeing pretty much the same field the Wright Brothers used. Pretty cool.

There is so much history here. There are plaques all over with the history of the field, and the local flora. Part of the road gets closed off if the skeet range is open. You need a couple hours to walk through the field and...More

The historic park is in two pieces. Be sure to stop at the visitors' center first. It's on a beautiful hill with great views and picnic tables under the trees. Watch the extremely well done 30 minute movie about the Wright Brothers and their work...More

Everything you ever wanted to know about the start of aviation and the Wright brothers. An interpretive center, a visitors center, monuments and historical fields. Everything is well maintained and there are lots of signs and plaques. Get a map at the visitor center!
