We LOVE hiking. As a mom of 3 small children I have to be selective when hiking alone with the kids. This place is SAFE! There is a sign in. Someone knows you are out there. The path is gorgeous. I'm not super woman and I can carry my 28 pound toddler on my back throughout the canyon. We've seen... More

I have hiked all through Ramsey Canyon and beyond. There are so many trails and after you get past the switch back that overlook the canyon...continue a mile more and you will see beautiful waterfalls and a stream. I have scene not only all the different birds and butterflies but also unique flowers...like a cluster of yellow Columbines. There are... More

We visited the preserve in mid-April so it was still early for blooms and hummingbirds. We did see a handful of hummingbirds but not as many as we had hoped. We saw deer, squirrels and butterflies as well as beautiful scenery including a creek. The main hike is only about 1.5 miles and there are benches along the way. We... More

Due to computer problems was difficult in am to pay entry fee and delayed access to canyon. Very beautiful natural settings. If you're off to late start will be difficult to find parking.

The preserve boasts that 14 species of hummingbirds are among the 150 species of birds either living in or migrating through the confines of the park. We saw several hummers and other fowl. Nice hiking trail leading to an overlook of Ramsey Canyon. We also saw at least three Coues whitetail deer. $6.00 entry fee per adult, good for 6... More

While visiting Sierra Vista during my southern swing of Arizona I visited many great places from this central location. Ramsey Canyon was one spot I'll never forget. It's a hardwood canyon in the high desert that attracts so many kinds of hummingbirds. Coronado Monument is another great place close by. Just a beautiful spot to view nature and hike while... More

I would come to Ramsey Canyon again and again. It's a beautiful place to come and sit and enjoy the outdoor freshness, hiking trail and hummingbirds. Come bring the family or as an elderly couple enjoy the benches, trees and birds.

We went on the trail & took many beautiful pictures for my daughter's senior pics. The sound of running water is refreshing to those who are missing creeks & nature. The only downside was the nature center. I would love to see just a little bit more in that area.

Ramsey Canyon is a unique place on a sky island in southern Arizona. The uniqueness of it is that it's like a soon, but you are being observed. I recommend you stay at one of the cabins in the canyon or the bed and breakfast just outside the reserve. Staying at the canyon, you will be able to go into... More
