Beautiful drive

This parkway is an integral part of traveling throughout the triangle and it is beautiful, blocking out all of modern civilization (except other cars) on your historic journey.

The colonial parkway is a nice way to drive among Williamsburg Yorktown and Jamestown. It's very scenic on the water and gives a nice perspective on how things might have looked 300 years ago.

Historic triangle pass takes you on this parkway that takes you back in time from Jamestown to Yorktown and makes you feel you are traveling the footsteps of those who had a vision of building the beginning of a great nation. Set your mind and imagine what the people endured at the first settlement to the protection of the land... More

Road was very rough, uneven and in a poor state of repair. Slabs was sinking and creating very rough conditions.

Much is said about the Colonial Parkway; however, it is just a highway. I suppose you could make a case for it being scenic, but I could make just as strong a case for it being a bit dangerous! It is a quasi 3 lane road I suppose. There are no side road markings; however more scary is the fact... More

I live in Yorktown and use the Colonial Parkway quite often. Starting in Yorktown, the drive takes you along the York River with parking areas suitable for a picnic or fishing. It takes a turn inland towards Williamsburg and then on to Jamestown. You will pass many areas to pull over and see lovely ponds and inlets. The Fall season... More

Drove the Colonial Parkway to both original Jamestown settlement (and museum) and to Yorktown (and Museum). No commercial traffic and mostly speeds of 45 with no passing. Really nice nonstop drive with exits for Williamsburg Colonial town. At one end is the Yorktown Museum (a really wonderful museum) and at the other end is the Jamestown museum. This museum is... I love this drive. There is something to be said for a slower drive through a parkway. If you're in a hurry take the highway. If you want to clear your mind, relieve stress, or enjoy a nice drive go here.

Gorgeous drive along the York river. The speed limit is 45 but its the best way to get from Yorktown to Williamsburg. Be careful-lots of deer.
