Hugh Odoon at the desk was extremely helpful, and also gave us an impassioned account of the Trail of Tears. Excellent and very moving introductory film. The whole site brings the past to life.

We visited here on one of numerous visits to civil war battlefields. It is well maintained with a very good visitor center with rangers who give good tours, interesting exhibits (rifle buffs take note) and a solid short film on the battle. Local guides are...More

We came inside the museum building. The bookstore/ gift shop was excellent. Frank Varney was there signing his latest book, an unexpected bonus. The Fuller Gun collection is a not to be missed feature. Nearly 400 guns from early 1800s on. So beautifully kept. Saw...More

Rangers were very helpful and informative. You can drive then walk through parts of the battlefield. It is very large, so you need about 1 - 2 hours to drive through, more if you walk. Recommend audio during the tour. Don't miss the tower.

A must see if in the area. The video was very well presented. All the displays were very well documented. We did an abbreviated tour of the extensive Battlefield. We wish we would have had more time. We definitely would recommend visiting this location.

The show in the visitor's center is mandatory - it goes through the history of the battle very well and prepares you for the drive, if you want to see the battlefield. Be warned, it is a large battlefield and there are monuments everywhere. The...More

I think you sent this comment to the wrong reviewer. My review mentioned nothing about casualty rates of the Spanish American War.

No problem with pets.....just pick up after yourselves. Sorry to have to say that, however there are so many who do not and it is a problem. There are many people who walk their pets through the wooded trails.
