So different to see a battlefield for real and get an idea of the scale of the real estate involved.
It’s so important that the great folks taking care of the land here and all over the country are supported to keep this alive for...More
I took this tour with Richard 3-plus years ago which was one of the first of many Civil War battlefields I have toured. I had been to the park a couple of times in earlier years but found it to be a little difficult to...More
I love climbing the tower. I have arthritis and find it difficult to climb stairs. I can climb the stairs at the tower. It's great exercise. The steps are short but there are more than 100. I've been told 137.
My husband and I do enjoy history, and this drive after viewing the film in the visitors center really brought the entire Battlefield to life. 8 stops and some beautiful places was just perfect 4 a two or three-hour trip, and there was a plethora...More
If you want to really understnd this complex battle and the personalities involved do some reading before you get there. I recommend Peter Cozzins “This Terrible Sound”. My wife and I had a guide for our day there who helped the battle come alive for...More

Be sure to watch the movies about this historic battle and how it likely changed the course of America's history. Tour the battlefield using the Cell phone to listen to the details of the various battles. Take your time and think about what took place...More
The staff at visitors center Is very friendly. We took a guided auto tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and more than willing to share his knowledge. I’m glad the very men that fought for their beliefs on these grounds came together to preserve them...More
As a homeschooling family, we like to take every chance we can to experience history. The children enjoy seeing all of the monuments and going through history as others might have. (Well, without being in the middle of battle.). The Wilder tower was their favorite.
No problem with pets.....just pick up after yourselves. Sorry to have to say that, however there are so many who do not and it is a problem. There are many people who walk their pets through the wooded trails.
