We drove through on Christmas Day. We used the audio tour and drove to points of interest. Normally we love to hike and this hiking trail would have been a really cool one if we had more time. We got out and walked up horseshoe hill with our dogs. Very cool hour long detour from our road trip.

Spent the day on the self-guided smartphone tour yesterday. It was perfectly done. They also offer a 26 minute film outlining the battle and surrounding timeline. Actually brought tears. The Fuller Firearm Collection housed in the visitors center is better than that at the Springfield Armory. All in all, the experience rivals Gettysburg without the throngs of tourists.

Really beautiful park. What astounded me is the size. It's 5,000 acres which is enormous for a Civil War battlefield site. Apparently veterans of both sides set aside the area. What is really neat is looking out over some of the fields and walking in the forest you get a real sense of what the area was like during the... More

If you like history then you need to visit here. There are lots of monuments and markers of which army was where. The film at the visitor center is good. There are lots of trails. I would like to go back but bring my bike and ride around the battlefield.

I visited the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Beautiful setting with awe inspiring monuments documenting our country's past. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.

This is a remarkable journey to the past to compensate the fallen Veterans at the nation's first national military park. The park entrance fee is free on national holidays such as Veterans Day

We've visited many Civil War Battlefields and meaning no disrespect, we were disappointed in this one. It's mainly a driving tour with lots of stone monuments. The video at the Visitor's Center is the highlight of the visit. It was a pivotal battle, but we didn't think there was a lot of interesting displays.

First let me say I would have given this review 5 stars had the self guided tour actually worked. You are supposed to call a special number at each location to hear a narration of what you are looking at. Try as we might, the phone wouldn't work. Other than that small inconvenience, it's a must see destination.
